Our 2026 cruise calendar is booking up fast, but we still have good availability in April. So why not choose an April Cruise to celebrate a spring escape to the Hebrides in 2026?
Here are 5 good reasons to choose one of our April cruises:
1. The arrival of spring is a wonderful time to explore our beautiful Hebriden islands with nature bursting into colour and life. Our fantastic crews will ensure you have the experience of a lifetime to set you up for the rest of the year. Our Hebrides Magical Mini-Cruise aboard Lucy Mary starts off our season in style - click on the reviews tab in the cruise page and read the ten 2025 reviews there, to find out what an amazing time they all had!
2. Over the past few years, April in the Hebrides has been sunny and warm, with April 2025 being one of the best months for weather for the whole year. Just as the clocks change, a warm, sunny spring emerges from the winter gloom – perfect for cruising the Hebrides!
3. In April on the West Coast of Scotland, daylight is perfectly timed for stunning skies reflected in shimmering seas. Glorious sunrises accompany breakfast and fiery Hebridean sunsets are a backdrop to dinner, while the dark-sky evenings show off spectacular starry nights. The depth of light and colour are an inspiration to our guests who enjoy photography and the creative arts.
4 Our Chefs love the start of the season with amazing locally-sourced ingredients to delight our guests: from free-range Island lamb, beef and venison to freshly caught seafood and new season vegetables. If you love seafood our one-off “In search of seafood: a Hebridean Gourmet cruise” is an exquisite and unique dining experience where you meet the producers as well as enjoy their catch, cooked to perfection by your onboard Chef.
5. April is the month that migrating wildlife returns to the Hebrides. Nesting seabirds such as puffins, guillemots, razorbills and many other bird species can be easily seen and corncrakes morelikely to be heard on our Idyllic islands: Mull, Iona, Staffa and the Treshnish Isles cruise. Our sharp-eyed wildlife guides will be scanning the seas for dolphins, Minke whales and other rare species returning to the seas of the Hebrides from their winter migrating grounds.

I was excited about coming on the three night cruise on the Lucy Mary after being recommended by a friend and studying the website, which explained everything clearly and interestingly. The reality was even better than my already-high expectations. I wanted to see eagles and we saw both white-tailed and golden eagles very clearly, as well as puffins and a whole selection of other sea and land birds, a couple of seals - and the most amazing, colourful, quite beautiful giant jellyfish that swam under the boat. Dave the wildlife man was on deck before breakfast scanning for creatures to show us and tell us about, and stayed there throughout the day, when we sere at sea, until dusk. His deep knowledge and infectious enthusiasm were inspiring. Rob the skipper was skilful, Will the bosun busy and helpful, Poppy the steward was welcoming and efficient and our chef was creative and accomplished (the food was truly delicious and I'm going to replicate a couple of the dishes at home). We became good friends with the other passengers and enjoyed their company. So. It was a life-enhancing experience and sitting here at the computer back in London, I still have the sight, smell and taste of the sea in my memory to remind me. Thank you.
