Step away from the rush of the everyday and into the gentle rhythm of the Hebrides. Life at sea with us is a seamless blend of adventure and tranquility. From the first steam of coffee as the sun rises over a quiet loch to the shared stories over a local malt at sunset, every moment onboard is designed to help you reconnect with nature, and yourself.

The beauty of life onboard our vessels is that the scenery never stays the same. One hour you are watching the dramatic basalt cliffs of Canna slide by, and the next, you are scanning the horizon for the tell-tale blow of a Minke whale. Our spacious decks and panoramic viewing areas ensure you never miss a moment, whether you’re a keen photographer or simply someone who loves to watch the world go by.

We believe that great adventures should be fuelled by great food. Our onboard chefs take immense pride in showcasing the Hebridean larder. Expect fresh, locally sourced seafood, traditional Scottish flavours, and home-baked treats that have become a legendary part of our guest experience. Dining is an informal, social affair, a time to gather with your fellow travellers and the crew to recount the day’s sightings and discoveries.

Life at sea is dictated by the wind, the waves, and the wildlife. This flexibility is what makes our cruises so special. If we spot a pod of dolphins, we linger. If a particular anchorage is looking exceptionally beautiful, we stay a little longer.

Guests are free to be as active or as relaxed as they please. You can spend your afternoon on the bridge learning about navigation from the Skipper, joining a wildlife presentation from our onboard expert, or tucked away in a quiet corner with a book and a view.

As evening falls, we drop anchor in some of the most remote and peaceful spots in the UK. There is no light pollution here, only the brightest stars and the sound of water against the hull. Our cabins provide a cozy sanctuary for a restful night’s sleep, ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready for whatever the next island has in store.

A day in the life aboard

While no two days in the Hebrides are ever the same, here is a glimpse into at typical day aboard ;

The morning ritual

Wake up to the silence of a remote anchorage. Start your day with a freshly brewed coffee on deck, watching the mist lift off the hills, or enjoy a hearty Scottish breakfast in the saloon whilst chatting with your group on the day’s planned route and weather.

Into the wild

We weigh anchor and begin our morning passage. This is prime time for whale and dolphin spotting. Our wildlife expert is always on hand with binoculars, helping you identify everything from harbour porpoises to white tailed eagles as we cruise toward our next destination.

Stretching your legs

The tender is lowered, and we head ashore. Whether it’s a landing on an uninhabited island to explore ancient ruins or a guided walk across a flowering machair, this is your time to immerse yourself in the landscape.

A lunch with a view

Return to the vessel for a delicious, freshly prepared lunch. We often enjoy our meals while anchored in a quiet turquoise bay, giving you a chance to watch seals bobbing in the water nearby while you dine.

Afternoon exploration

The afternoon might bring another shore excursion, or cruise to a new anchorage, perhaps a more challenging hike ashore for those who want it, or a leisurely coastal wander. Alternatively, stay onboard and chat with the skipper about the charts and the history of the coastline.

Tea and tall tales

As we find our sheltered spot for the night, the chef serves afternoon tea with home baked cakes. It’s a wonderful time to swap photos with your fellow guests and update the Wildlife Log with the day’s sightings.

Dinner and distilleries

The highlight of the evening: a three course dinner with the skipper and guide showcasing the very best of local Highland produce. After dinner you will have a briefing from the skipper and wildlife guide discussing the plan for the following day’s activities.  Many guests also enjoy a glass of local malt whisky or a gin from a nearby island distillery as the sun sets over the Atlantic.

Stargazing and stillness

With no city lights for miles, the stargazing is unparalleled. Step out on deck for a final breath of salt air and a view of the Milky Way before retiring to your cabin, rocked to sleep by the gentle movement of the sea.
